CTF Size Guide

There are a huge number of different CTF brands and it would be impossible for us to write a size guide comparing every single one. For that reason we have chosen some of the most common brands to compare to give you an idea of sizes.

This page has been split into two types: Bendy and Plastic. Within these we have compared the most common brands (Julip, Equorum, RubberNedz, Schleich and CollectA) as well as a few other brands as well.

Below is a size guide comparison between the three most common brands of latex model horses, Julip, Equorum and RubberNedz. It is worth noting that both Equorums and RubberNedz come in a variety of different sizes.

Equorums have four different sizes, unfortunately I do not have the models to produce a size guide between them, it is something I'm working on (probably shouldn't have sold them...).

Below we can see a size comparison between the three Classic sizes. From back to front:

Now onto RubberNedz. RubberNedz come in four main sizes: Traditional, Classic and Nedlets (around large Stablemate scale). Here we can see a comparison between the three sizes along with a foal.

Just like with adult horses there is also a size difference between the foal moulds of Julips, Equorums and RubberNedz. Here we see all three compared.

There are a large number of plastic CTF brands that are all around 1:18 scale. The two most common of these to find in the model horse community are Schleich and CollectA.

Update: We have added some images below showing a size comparison between Safari models which come in four different sizes.

Like other brands there is a good size difference between adults and foals.

Some CollectA foals are much larger than others. There is little difference in size between the heavy horse foal moulds (such as the Clydesdale foal) and the other foal moulds. However, the new Friesian foal is much larger than the standard CollectA foal.

CollectA produce three sizes of models. The Deluxe Range (1:12 scale), the standard range (1:18 scale) and the Minis range (around 1:64 scale). Here we can see a comparison between the Deluxe and Standard range.

We shall now move onto the Schleich range. Schleich produce a huge range of models all in approximately 1:18 scale. There is good variation between the different breeds (heavy horses, light horses and ponies) as you would expect.

There is a good realistic height variation between the foal moulds as well. The below comparison shows a heavy horse, light horse and pony foal.

Safari produce a range of minis that are about the same size as Breyer Mini Whinnies. Below is a comparison between a Safari 'Toob' Mini and a Mini Whinnie.
